“I felt empowered”
“Sarah thoughtfully and compassionately worked with me to understand the scope and then supported me in taking the steps to accomplish what I needed. She worked side-by-side with me, finding the perfect balance of respecting my boundaries with sensitivity while pushing me in the necessary ways. She helped me to find the treasures within my clutter. I was left with a home that felt transformed to reflect “me,” making me feel like I was finally living in my very own sanctuary – something I had always wanted but never could do on my own. She worked with me on my closet, ultimately transforming my complex relationship with clothing and body image. I felt empowered to step into my own sense of style and feel beautiful.”

“good for
happy living”
“Sarah has an incredible talent of knowing color, style, and organization deeply and the skills to assist in executing transformations that I could not have imagined would have such a profound effect and impact on my life. Sarah gently walked me through several processes that included organizing my home and developing a sense of fashion and color that improved my self-esteem and reduced my anxiety significantly. I was honestly baffled by how emotional letting go of certain items would be and how relieved I felt having a professionally organized space. Clearing out my closet was particularly helpful. Clarifying what I love that also looks good on me and parting with the clothes that were not the best on me helped me feel more like myself when getting dressed for work, or for going out with my wife or going to soccer practice with my son. I also now know what not to buy more of again and what styles work well on me and more importantly: are my style. Sarah and my work together was an absolute game changer for my mental health and sense of well-being. I finished the process feeling like my appearance matched my internal sense of self and my space somehow resonated with me in a totally new way. I highly recommend working with Sarah.”

“helped me feel more like myself”
"Sarah worked with me off and on for about a year, sorting through decades of accumulated possessions: family heirlooms, clothing, personal and professional libraries, papers, etc. It was a daunting task that I absolutely could not have done on my own. Sarah streamlined the process, and helped me stay on task — that in itself is no mean feat! She worked hard to understand how I do things and then discussed which organizational systems would allow me to live in the house in a way that really suits my lifestyle. It’s been almost a year since we finished, and those systems are still in place and working well.
While the decision-making process was hard at times, working with Sarah was both affirming and fun. I never felt judged. She respected — and worked with — my quirks and foibles seamlessly. I can’t recommend her highly enough.”

“both affirming and fun”
“Sarah supported me in a reorganization project of my walk-in closet. What I needed was someone to 'counsel' me—someone who could, based on my personality and body type, advise me on which items to delete without guilt and how to reorganize the keepers. I won’t divulge the entire 'Sarah method,' but over two days, she held up each garment to my face to check colors, patterns, fabrics, and styles. She had me try on many pieces to weed out the bad fits and outdated looks—like those football-shoulder jackets from the 90s -good clothes I didn’t have the heart to donate on my own but that should definitely not be worn in 2020. The end result of our efforts: A delightful space with everything I truly want and need at my fingertips—and so much easier to maintain! In addition, I gained valuable self-knowledge about better choices for my future wardrobe. I happily donated over eight boxes of clothing to a local women’s shelter, an organization I regularly support.”

“A delightful space”
“Working together with Sarah Hoffman has been a pleasure, and our joint accomplishment has been a joy. I have consolidated five homes into one and have many things to give away or recycle. Working together, we were able to complete many parts of the project. We created a local design library and prepared for another Art library, clearing many shelves in that house that were then moved to family members. This was a special move to Jackson, WY. Because of working with Sarah, I have been able to settle into the new house in a fresh and beautiful way good for happy living.”

“clear, kind,
and focused”
“Sarah and her closet organization process were clear, kind, and focused. There was no judgment about my choices or lack of organization. My multi-year, stop-and-go closet organization had been mildly successful, but in just a few hours with Sarah, I rediscovered items I loved and enjoyed wearing again. It was exciting to see my closet with affection instead of frustration.
My next project with Sarah will be discovering the best colors for my complexion and personality. Future purchase decisions will be much smoother with these tools. I can't wait to get my colors done with Sarah! I love that we did my wardrobe audit first and are now going to do custom colors and personal style. That order feels right and most helpful for me.”

“permission-giving and attitude-shifting”
“Working with Sarah on my wardrobe was inspiring, incredibly good fun, and a confidence boost all around. I don’t get dressed without her now! In particular, her question to me about whether I was wearing an outfit or whether the outfit was wearing me has helped me continue to refine and edit pieces from my closet. Her approach was supportive while challenging old ideas (especially about money “wasted”), and I experienced her warmth as permission-giving and attitude-shifting.”

“How freeing!”
“I came to work with Sarah because I wanted to get some clarity about which colors look best on me. I ended up learning so much more! Not only did I get a wonderful custom palette of colors, but she also taught me how to complement myself with the right amount of contrast, the best textures, and patterns that work for me. She showed me how to make proportion work for me, not against me. Sarah was the knowledgeable, kind, and objective expert I needed to help me determine what really looks good on me and to start making sense of my wardrobe.
Working with Sarah also helped me to edit my closet in so many ways: changing my neutrals to those that work for me—pretty much removing black and adding browns and greys—getting rid of almost all high-contrast patterns, and removing long tops that lengthened my torso (which for me doesn’t work given my height and proportions). I love the clarity provided by getting my colors done and then using them to do a final cleanout on my already minimal closet. I’m definitely someone who wants less stuff and has very little. What I’ve kept works well on me, and now I know what and how to add.
The biggest overall help with color, other than having the custom fabric shopping palette fan, was realizing that muted tones (I think of them as Scottish Highlands colors) are the best for me. Knowing what colors work with me helps to instantly weed out a lot of what I’m looking at when shopping online or in a store. Sarah helped me clarify that I can wear both warm and cool tones, which was very confusing for me before! Getting my colors done, along with the related design work with Sarah, has made getting dressed so much easier.
Sarah helped me come up with a workday “uniform” that fit the practical needs of my job but also integrated style and color elements. It’s now fun to choose outfits because I’m getting to the point where most things look good together, so there are fun surprises when I put things on, some of which I’ve had for years but am now wearing as if they're new to me. I love the concept—and reality—that Sarah talks about dressing in a way that ensures that you, as well as your clothes, are seen.
Sarah’s techniques and approaches are so effective, kind, and clear. Her work is truly both personal and custom. I now see how essential it is to see how clothes complement me personally, beyond how they're presented on a mannequin, in advertising or in magazines, etc. I've learned the importance of the individual in fashion, which is often overlooked due to the influence of advertising and media. Now, I focus on how my clothes work with and for me rather than being overshadowed by them. I really like how my face suddenly shows up more clearly when I’m wearing clothes and colors that work for me.
Working with Sarah has been incredibly helpful! I think about the things Sarah taught me literally every day. I still have some work to do on my wardrobe (like finding a couple of going-out outfits and a bag for that), but I now feel more confident in spending the money and making the choices of what to buy. As someone interested in having a capsule wardrobe, I can see what items work to create the foundation for that wardrobe in my closet.”

“knowledgeable, kind, and objective expert”
“Sarah Hoffman always looks ‘put together.” When I asked her how she managed that, she told me about Closet Editing and offered to help me edit mine. Rather than just pulling things she didn’t like out of my closet, Sarah customized her approach. She taught me about simplicity, which I realized I needed and wanted. For me now, simplicity is about wearing clothes that enhance my eye, hair, and skin color. It’s about having clothes that all look good when paired together. Sarah even talked about the importance of having nice hangers. As an artist specializing in oils and watercolors, my wardrobe is a curated mix of practical attire for painting and select pieces for daily wear and travel, complemented by a handful of quality garments for special occasions. My wardrobe reflects my personal preference for quality versus quantity.”

“customized approach”
“I can’t recommend Sarah’s work enough. It has changed my life. Working with Sarah has eliminated the daily angst of ‘what to wear,’ and I feel more confident and authentic overall. I am also saving thousands of dollars every year as am not making poor choices around clothing by following trends or making impulsive purchases.
Sarah showed me what cuts, textures, scale, and patterns work for my body shape, and what colors work with my skin tone and hair. Now all of my clothes work together and with my body shape and coloring. I now love everything in my closet so getting dressed is a fluid, joyful experience instead of stressful.
After working with Sarah, it’s easy to choose what to wear, and what I do choose accentuates who I am. I am more congruent all around, not to mention that my closet looks beautiful. She has a gift for this work and cares deeply about making the lives of her clients better.
I love this work. Working with Sarah will change your life for the better.”

“I now love everything in my closet”
“How freeing it was to clear away the clutter in my wardrobe! Sarah has made my life easier. We started by sorting and organizing the clothes in my closet. Our work evolved into packing for trips. I teach internationally and love to travel, but dread packing. I want to look good, feel comfortable, and pack compactly. My best trips are those for which Sarah set up my travel wardrobes, including outfits, shoes, and accessories.”

“saved me thousands of dollars”
“Sarah Hoffman’s coaching saved me thousands of dollars in clothes that were “wearing me” because after working with her I now know exactly what works best in terms of colors, textures and patterns for my body shape and coloring. I feel more confident about my wardrobe, shopping for clothes, and choosing what to wear on a daily basis. I loved the pacing of our work, her flexibility, and expertise. This wonderful experience can save you from making expensive clothing mistakes - It has more than paid for itself!

“an amazing experience!”
“Sarah Hoffman created a custom palette for me virtually and it was an amazing experience! With her unique approach and artistic intuition, I felt seen and understood; the palette was beautiful and one I will be happy using to inform my style choices. This really can be done virtually!”
– Rebecca, Spokane, WA USA
“I love feeling confident”
“Sarah does an incredible job, combining her expertise with your personal preferences. She works with you, not at you, and ensures that once you’re done, you can see yourself in your colors.”
– Forrester, Age 13
“you can see yourself in your colors”
“Working with Sarah on cleaning out my home office helped jumpstart a project I had been putting off for years. I was reluctant to share my piles of ‘stuff’ with her, but Sarah was incredibly supportive and encouraging as I faced the daunting task of saying goodbye to unwanted papers, files, and memorabilia. We accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. I highly recommend having her by your side as you tackle any home organizing project!”
– Julie, Boston, MA
“supportive and encouraging”
“Sarah has a real knack for making spaces feel cozy, personal, and functional for the owner or occupant. She has a way of adjusting her approach to what the client wants and needs and works with the client’s style, not just what she thinks looks good - though she’s happy to do that, too. Her main skill is in working with what you have, which, for most of us, is often a lot more than we realize. There’s a reason her friends have called her “the queen of cozy”. Sarah made sure to really see and hear me and what I wanted and focus on my agenda, not her own. She is the real deal.”
- Carol, Moose, WY
“made sure to really see and
hear me”
“It was such a pleasure to have my colors done with Sarah. I appreciated the process from start to finish. Her confidence and knowledge of all things color is evident. She was well-prepared and did a great job explaining the process. Knowing the colors that work for me and having my personal palette while shopping has been so helpful. I had no idea there were so many nuances to color! Knowing my exact shades has been so helpful. I love feeling confident with what I’m wearing each day. Thank you, Sarah!”

“personable, confident, and visual aesthetician; she’s a space whisperer”
“I consider myself a professional, and I am good at facilitating other people's desired changes. However, when I want to make changes in my personal space, I can get stuck, almost paralyzed. I know I need help, but I can often let my shame that I need to ask for assistance to ‘clean my room and get organized’ prevent me from asking for help.
Early in the pandemic was a time when this happened, and I had to muster my desire/need for change, and I reached out to Sarah. I had to start working from home on Zoom, and my personal space was a nightmare of papers, books, and personal items. I felt overwhelmed and unprofessional. The room was beyond out of control and messy, and it undermined my self-confidence and both my personal and professional sense of self. I really needed help. When it comes to helping myself make changes, I have found that getting help from others is a necessity and feels better than hiding my mess in front of me and pretending to have it all together.
Sarah turned what was once a daunting project into an adventure. As she got to know me and heard my embarrassment and concerns, she suggested instead of starting the re-org by putting it all in order that I take inventory of what I had, make categories, and then begin the process of the actual reorganization. Sarah got to understand me, and my failed attempts of trying to maintain and contain the space. I wanted to somehow make the space a functional office that worked for me and for guests as a bedroom.
We began the physical work. Sarah told me I “wasn’t allowed" to give anything away or even think of donating or getting rid of anything except garbage. Sorting together over Zoom also helped me so much! I really needed company, but not just any company, Sarah’s kind, supportive, informed company. She got to know me and how I work and won’t work for my own betterment. By getting to know me, she could then help me.
Sarah’s approach was truly customized. She didn’t just help me organize; she empathized with my overwhelm and sprinkled her unique brand of magic on the process, making it not just bearable but genuinely fun! She helped me every step of the way via our Zoom sessions, with me doing ‘homework’ in between sessions that I did!
Now, I have a place, not just a space to do my work that fits my professional needs for an office, but that also still functions as a guest room. I can’t recommend Sarah enough. She’s not just a personable, confident, and visual aesthetician; she’s a space whisperer who transforms rooms and moods with equal skill.”

“ Working with Sarah was a delight!”
“Working with Sarah was a delight! She was prompt and decisive, kept things on task, and had great resources for organizational tools and repurposing. Purging my closet, office, and books was a daunting chore, but tackling it with Sarah’s guidance made it quick and easy and left me with a huge sense of accomplishment. She even took the discarded items away with her to drop them at the appropriate donation sites etc. I highly recommend enlisting Sarah’s expertise with these tasks.”
